ABOUT THE SOCIETY
Aims
The Society aims to stimulate interest in the history of Woodford and its locality. The scope of the Society is as wide as the interest of its members and we welcome suggestions for speakers and topics. Our aim is to provide a friendly atmosphere with interesting subjects. We welcome visitors - a donation of £5.00 is requested.
Publications
A newsletter is issued to members twice a year, with details of meetings, news from the committee and short articles from members about specific buildings, people or other topics with a Woodford connection. Articles for inclusion are always welcomed.
The Society also intends to publish occasional ‘Transactions’, containing the results of original research which are thought to be worthwhile recording for posterity and are of interest to our members.
Programme
During the Winter and Spring a series of talks of historical interest is organised from September to May, details of which can be found on the 'Programme' tab of this website.
As a Society we do not undertake any research for the public. A link is provided to the Heritage Centre at the library at the London Borough of Redbridge – SEE LINKS
